Matthías Stephensen joins Héðinn

Matthías Stephensen has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Héðinn. Matthías previously worked at Arion Bank from 2011, most recently as Head of Operations and Sales in the Corporate Banking division, as well as the bank’s Head of Deposits. Héðinn is a leading company in metalworking and mechanical engineering, providing a wide range of services to the fisheries sector, heavy industry, and energy producers. The company was founded in 1922 and is celebrating its centennial this year.
Matthías holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration, with a focus on accounting and corporate finance, from the University of Iceland, as well as a master’s degree in the same field. Earlier this year, the consulting company Góð samskipti named Matthías to its list of 40 powerful business leaders in Iceland aged 40 and under.
"We are delighted to welcome such a strong addition to our team at Héðinn. The company serves a diverse group of clients both in Iceland and abroad, and Matthías’s experience will be of great value in this work," says Rögnvaldur Einarsson, CEO of Héðinn.
Matthías succeeded María Jónsdóttir, who has become CFO of HPP Solutions ehf., which was part of Héðinn until the end of last year.
