Decades of experience with control systems across the Icelandic fleet
Héðinn is an authorized service provider for Kongsberg Maritime control systems. Kongsberg propulsion control, winch control, and alarm and monitoring platforms are installed across a large share of the Icelandic fishing fleet and have been maintained and serviced by Héðinn for decades.
These systems are available for newbuild vessels as well as for retrofit and upgrade projects on vessels already in operation, regardless of the existing control infrastructure in place.

The MCON platform handles control of propellers, thrusters, and steering gear from Kongsberg and third-party suppliers. Designed for the full range of propulsion and manoeuvring equipment, MCON carries decades of propeller expertise into a single unified interface.

Synchro Autotrawl RTX and X7 systems deliver precise, synchronized control for single and multi-trawl operations. Autotrawl maintains full trawl opening during direction changes, maximizing catch efficiency throughout each haul.

From system assessment to commissioned control
Whether the project is a newbuild specification or a retrofit on an operational vessel, the same disciplined process applies.
Review the vessel and existing systems
Héðinn's team assesses the vessel's current control infrastructure, equipment inventory, and operational requirements. For retrofit projects this includes identifying which existing components can be retained.
Specify and source the right platform
The correct Kongsberg platform is selected and specified for the vessel type and function. Hardware, software versions, and interface requirements are defined before ordering.
Install and integrate
Control systems are installed, wired, and integrated with propulsion, deck machinery, and monitoring equipment. Héðinn coordinates all installation work through the Ship and Machinery Department.
Commission, test, and hand over
Sea trials and quayside commissioning verify correct operation across all modes. Documentation is completed and crew training provided before handover.

Systems already operating across the Icelandic fishing fleet
Kongsberg Maritime control systems have been in continuous service on Icelandic vessels for decades. Héðinn provides ongoing maintenance, spares support, and operational assistance for the installed base, including older platform generations that are no longer in production.
When a vessel reaches the point where an older control system requires more downtime than the operator can accept, Héðinn can assess the upgrade path and manage the transition to current platforms with minimal disruption to the vessel's schedule.
